Some Pictures from Our Georgia Trip

Well, I am happy to point out that our family finally got a complete picture of everybody! It was so nice because we're rarely ever able to get everybody together for a picture. I also put in a couple of pictures from our visit to the Cyclorama. The train is the Texas and was actually in the great train race back in the War for States' Rights. The picture with everybody singing is at my mother's side of the family get-together, and we're all singing Sacred Harp as is our tradition. Maybe I'll try to load some more pictures on later, but I thought ya'll might enjoy these. :) God bless!

Home Again!!!

Hey, everybody!!!! Sorry it's been forever since I posted on here, but believe me we were way too busy visiting people and driving places to be able to get on email. We just got back home last night around 7:00, I think. We really had a wonderful trip and enjoyed ourselves! We stayed at Granny and Pawpaw's most nights, but we did stay one night at my aunt and uncle's house in S.C. and one night with my oldest brother. After two days of driving we did finally get there and we were about ready to collapse in bed. Granny let me have the room downstairs in their basement area which was really nice because it was quiet and private. Course, there are those times I'd wake up and wonder, "What was that noise?" only to realize it was just the furnace coming on. :/
We got to go to the Cyclorama!!! It was so neat. The cyclorama is a 42 ft., 16,000 square foot painting of the Battle of Atlanta. It was painted back in the 1870s, I believe. You sit on these benches and turns you around in a circle to see the whole thing. It really is a neat thing to see, so if you're ever in Atlanta, check it out. They also had a museum that was really cool, I ought to load some pictures on of it at some point, maybe later.
Our family get-togethers also went great. It was really nice to see everyone, and the food was really great! Our Roberts family get-together went wonderful! We sang Sacred Harp, as is our tradition, and James recorded it. The singing really sounded pretty! Especially, with Justin, Chris, Jonathon, Uncle Leon, and my oldest brother singing base!

Georgia, Here We Come!!!!!!

Well, we're leaving in about two hours!!! Boy, my room is a mess though! There's clothes and bags and junk and well, you get the idea. :D Dad is going to let me drive some on our trip because he wants me to get some practice driving on the highway and on the interstate. Hopefully, I won't hurt anybody..... We're going to make it to Shreveport, La. tonight and that is about an eight and a half hour drive, and we'll stay in a motel there. We'll then wake up bright and early and make it to my grandparents' house around supper time. I can't wait!!! Granny always has plenty of goodies and things to do. Granny and PawPaw also love big jigsaw puzzles and it's a lot of fun to work on them with them. :) That's probably where I got my love of doing jigsaw puzzles. I especially enjoy listening to things while I'm doing them.
I really do wish we could go to the New Years meeting at Grace Chapel this year, but we won't be able to. I'll just keep looking forward to March Boot Camp!!! Hopefully, many of my friends will be able to come because I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it to Camp Moriah in June. Maybe if my sister and her family are moved out here by then.......
Well, I guess until sometime after I get back I won't be able to get on here. :( Hope ya'll have a nice break!!!! God bless!!!

Ahhhhh....school's out!

Well, technically I'm pretty much done for the holidays. We have to take a French test tomorrow though. I wasn't that excited about that, but Mom doesn't want us to forget stuff over our vacation. We're heading to Georgia on Monday to go see all the relatives and stuff. Since we only come once a year usually our family out there usually have these big get-togethers. It makes us feel kind of special and the food is always great! Ooooo I love my Granny's cakes when they're not chocolate, that is, since I'm allergic. Most people say that they don't know how in the world I can stand it without chocolate, but when you haven't had it since you were four, you kind of get used to it. I'm also allergic to Red 40 which is in most candies, so I guess I eat healthier in some ways because of that, but believe me, I improvise!!! Oh, well, maybe I'll try to get on tomorrow. I have to get off to go study for my French test! A bientot et Bonne Journee!!!

Candlelight Pictures

Hey! Well, Candlelight really was a lot of fun!!! A lot of people came by and watched us, but it didn't seem to be as many as there were in previous years. We were in the Box and Strip House which is called that because of the way it's built. It was kind of funny the really stupid comments people would make while passing through. Jesse and Rachel were playing cards and Chinese checkers on the floor in front of the door usually, and at least two people asked if there were cards back then. One person even made the statement that she was sure that there wasn't cards back then. Then while I was crocheting by lamplight people kept saying that I was knitting and that I was probably going to ruin my eyes. It was pretty cold but we kept pretty cozy by our pot-belly stove. One person actually called it an iron-belly stove. Oh well, it was pretty fun nonethless! Well, I have to go! I'll tell you more about it later! Talk to you soon and God bless!!!!

A Visit to the 1880s!

Well, sorry I haven't posted in a while. You know how things get.....
Well, tonight and tomorrow night Jesse and I and a few friends are going to dress up in 1880s style fashion and go and volunteer in the Ranching Heritage Center. They usually have a Candlelight thing once a year. The RHC is basically a place where they have gotten old ranch houses from the area and fixed them up and put them on this plot of land for people to see. What we will do is sit in one of the houses and sew, sing, read, talk(about things of that people back then would talk about), play checkers, etc. as people walk through and look at the houses. It is always a lot of fun! It's supposed to be cold, though so we'll probably be huddled around the stove drinking cider part of the time. I'll have to see if I can maybe take some pictures. :) We will spend the night at a friend's house, and then probably watch Hogan's Heroes all Saturday morning. It's going to be soooooo much fun!
Well, it sure has been freezing cold around here. It went down to 4 degrees Farenheit on Tuesday morning, and the high on Monday was about 21 degrees. Brrrrrr..... We didn't even get any snow!
Well, I have finished The Scarlet Letter. I must say that it is a good book to read all though it is kind of sad. I might put my finished character analysis paper on Hester Prynne, but I'm not sure about it. My Dad seemed to like it since he gave me a hundred on it. I'll think about it. What do ya'll say, yea or nay?

I really am sorry I haven't posted in so long! I've been really busy with school work this week. I had a really important paper that I needed to get done and I seemed to be having a horrible problem with writer's block. I did finally get it done and was terribly relieved. I had to choose a main character out of The Scarlet Letter and do a character analysis on them and believe me it wasn't that fun. I've also been kind of sick with congestion and haven't really felt worth a flip, but I'm feeling better now. Goodness, that cough syrup stuff is the most icky tasting stuff! YUCK!!!!

Math class has been going okay lately though it does seem to be getting a little more complicated. :/ It was hard to go back to school after having such a great holiday. I sure was tired after all the hubub. We, hopefully, will be able to go to Georgia during out winter break. That'll be interesting. I'll get to see all the relatives again!

Thanksgiving Picts and Fun

Hey! These are some pictures of the niece and nephews. The second picture is of some of us watching the game. I really like the shirts, don't you? The first picture is of David, and he's really gotten big. He's crawling all over the place!!! All right, so to keep my promise I'll tell you a little more about all the fun we had with the niece and nephews and with Thanksgiving.
Jesse, Stephen and I all stayed at the Taylor's house long after Mom and Dad had left on Thanksgiving Day. It was mostly because we were in the middle of a good game of 42 when Mom said she was ready to go home. Anyway, after they left we ate supper there and watched James and Aaron take on Barbara and Joey(James's sister and brother-in-law). That was quite an interesting game, but what was even more funny was when James and Aaron took on their parents. That was cool, especially when Aaron got the perfect hand and bet three marks. Boy, that was cool! All right, you're probably looking at the computer with a blank look wondering what in the world is Stacey talking about! The game 42 is played with dominos up to the double six. It's basically like a game of cards except with dominos. You have what you call counter, which is any domino equalling in number five or ten. Those dominos get you extra points. Then you have trumps which is basically what the highest bidder declares is trumps. It may be fives, two, ones, whatever. You start the game by going around the table and starting the bidding at 30(that's the total amount of points you bid to be able to win), and the bidding can go as high as four or five marks possibly. I've only been in a game where three marks was bet. The bidding starts at the left of the person who shuffled and they can either pass or bid. If the person next to them wants to bid over a person who has bet 30 than they can bid 31 0r 32. Then the game begins by the highest bidder declaring what is trumps, and then the strategy of winning a set begins. You're are probably still giving me a weird look, but you should get my brother-in-law to explain it. 42 is the official game of Texas A&M, by the way. ;^) Gig'em Aggies!!!!!!!!!!
We did have fun watching the Aggies vs. Longhorns game even though we got beat. It actually was a closer game than I thought it would be. It is too bad that they don't show half-time. I would have loved to see the Aggie Marching Band do their stuff! We went over to Barbara and Joey's apartment to watch the game, and had quite a blast. Well, I guess I'd better go! Thanksgiving Fun

Hey!
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I remember that the first thing I did when I woke up on Thanksgiving morning while I was still lying in bed was thank the Lord for His abundant blessings upon my life and the lives of those I love. Well, we went over to the Taylors and had quite a time. The food was really great, and even helping with the dishes was really fun. After all that was done we all sat down and sang for a couple of hours out of the PBH. After that James, Aaron(James's brother), Stephen, and I sat down to a good game of 42. Course, me and Stephen got beat, but it was still fun. I'll have to tell you more about the rest of it all and the Aggie vs. Longhorns game tomorrow because my time is almost up. I'll even be nice and throw in some pictures! Talk to ya soon!!!

It's almost Thanksgiving!!!

Wow! Tomorrow it Thanksgiving! I'm really looking forward to it! Ah...Turkey and dressing.... :) Course, we all know that it's not how we celebrate it that's important, but why we celebrate it. We celebrate it to give thanks to God for his many blessings throughout the year. It is rather sad that Thanksgiving isn't as popular in the secular world. Our pastor was talking about how the secular world can't really commercialize and make as much money off of Thanksgiving as they do Christmas. I think there is great meaning in that! During Christmas it seems that all people think about is what they want and that they need to buy, buy, buy. Thanksgiving is giving thanks for all those things we have and enjoy. We do not celebrate Christmas in our home. We believe that you should celebrate the birth of the Son of God everyday of the year. Besides, I'm not Catholic and Christmas is a Catholic holiday, and I believe the Catholics to be pagan so there you go. Anyway, enough of that...
We're planning to go over to the Taylor's house to celebrate Thanksgiving. James and Julie will be there along with Stephen and of course the rest of the Taylor family. Justin and my other brother will not be there, unfortunately. Oh, well, that's just the way it goes.

Howdy!

Well, today sure has been interesting....

I was sitting at the table this morning eating my Kix and drinking my coffee when we got a telephone call. Julie and James were expected to be getting here about supper time tonight and I had school to do plus a whole pile of chores to do before they got here. Julie was calling to tell us that they were making such good time that they'd be here by lunch. I was excited that they'd be here early until I realized how much stuff I'd have to try to get done before they got here. I was a little grumpy about it for a while, then I realized how selfish I was acting. Here I was thinking about all the trouble I was going to have to go through and think all about myself. That is not the Christian attitude. I then asked God to forgive me for it and just tried to do the best I could about getting school and chores done. I didn't get it all done in time, but then my nephews Samuel and Benjamin decided to help me sweep off the porch. It was so cute!
Well, I guess I need to get off here pretty soon. I feel really tired at the moment. Well, talk to you soon!!

One man's junk is another man's treasure

Hey! Sorry it's been a while since I last posted. I've been either too busy or too tired to really post on here. :/
Today we worked at a yard sale. Brother Tom and Sister Kathy(our pastor and his wife) were having a yard sale so we thought we'd combine the effort to sale stuff with our own. It was I think the most fun I've ever had at a yard sale! We had out in front of Joe's museum which is right on the highway. Three of the Ritchies, Eric, Ellen, and Emily, came to see us while we were there. Emily and Ellen had come up to Lubbock to visit Eric, and it was so great to visit with them and tell some good jokes. We also went over to a cafe that just recently opened and checked it out. I think I'm going to have to go over there again soon, it was really neat. We didn't make a whole lot off the sale, but got rid of some stuff. I myself only made $1.50, but I think Dad and Mom made about $75. I sure am tired though! We had a dust storm blow through during the sale, and it didn't really help the allergies I've been fighting.
Well, nothing other than that's really been going on. Julie and James and their bunch are coming to visit this next week! I'm so excited to get to see them that I can hardly wait. I haven't seen them since July.
I think I'm going to go. I'm really tired as is the rest of the family. A good night's rest sounds really great at the moment. :D Talk to you soon, my dear blog reader!!!

Busy would be the proper word

Hey! We have been pretty busy lately. Dad kind of gave us all a scare when he started having chest pains and pain in his forearm. Thankfully, all the tests they ran came back negative and clear, but they just suggested that he make some more changes in his diet. If any of you know Dad, you'd know that he's pretty picky about his diet and it's pretty hard to change things, but he has made some modifications which seem to be helping some. They also said that he needs to get more exercise, and mom's doctor said that she needed to get a stationary bike for therapy on her knee, so I don't know what we're going to do.
I was so excited to hear that there's going to be another Sacred Harp singing on the 20th! It's going to be at that same Episcopal church that we went to for the last one. I wonder if they really paid attention to what they were actually singing, like the song, "Go tell it to the World" says on the chorus "Poor mourners found a home at last through free grace and a dying lamb". The acoustics were great though.
School has been going pretty well. Calculus isn't too bad yet, and I finally had a day where I wasn't so worn out. Ever since I took that crazy ACT my brain has been rather out of whack. I mean, I was talking in jibber-jabber for a couple of days. That seems to happen when I get really tired or stressed, I try to talk and I get weird looks from mom and Jesse. Then I realize I just said something incomprehendable, and try to correct myself. I usually just put a disclaimer on anything coming out of my mouth. It was really bad after I got back from July Boot Camp(a teenage Bible study camp for those of you who don't know) and I was so tired that I could hardly say anything worth listening to. Jesse thought that it was so funny, and I just gave one of those mean sister looks. Oh, well, I guess it was my own fault. I was already really tired from Camp Moriah, and then I had to went to Boot Camp and wore myself out again.
Well, I started reading The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne today. So far, it seems rather sad, but I've only read the first two chapters. It's required reading in my schoolwork, by the way. I'm still also working on reading Sherlock Holmes. I have been so busy with school that I don't always have the time to read it, but I have made some progress. The last time I went up to the library the lady was asking me if this was required reading or recreational, because I think that was the fourth time I had renewed it. I guess I'll finish it sometime, but it is quite a huge volume.
Well, fall really has set in. All the leaves around here seem to all be turning. I sure do miss summer though. Well, I guess I'll talk to ya later! God bless!

Well, I finally figuired out the picture thing with some help of a certain older brother of mine. Anyway, I decided to put a picture of some of the friends I got to visit with this summer. :) This picture was taken at Harmony Hill on Friday night. Looks pretty good, don't it? I really was tempted to put a picture of Justin's embarrasing birthday cake, but I think I'll be nice and save that for later. :^B
Today went very well. (I really love Saturdays because I get to sleep late. :D) A couple in our church was celebrating their 67th anniversary at the church. Their actual anniversary isn't until December, but they wanted to go ahead and celebrate it because this way their kids and grandkids could come. It was a lot of fun and the cake and punch were really good, course, I think Jesse drank a little too much punch because he was about to bounce of the wall when we got home. I teased him and sad that I was tempted to give him a "punch". He just gave me one of those frowning Jesse looks(those of you who know him probably know what I'm talking about).

This Blog's first picture!!!

Okay, you might be wondering what this is. It's a mastadon skull. My friend Joe Taylor owns a fossil museum that supports Creation. This is his newest display that he intends to sale. I and a few other people helped him work 0n it. He has really put in a lot of hours to perfect it, and it's really incredible the stuff he has done to it! I have not been able to work at his museum in a while, unfortunately, because of school, but I hope to be able to get back down there at some point. Well, I guess I need to go! Talk to you soon!!!

Oh, how interesting....

I was kind of checking out some of the comments on one of my latest posts and found that the guy that put such a rude comment about me doing more studying than praying is a complete athiest. Not to say that I was too suprised. I rather pity him than anything. What kind of hope or joy does he truly have? As it says in the Bible, "The fool hath said in his heart there is no God." I sure hope the Lord blesses him to repent of his sins and truly come to know where true happiness and fullfillment comes from. I would probably be in the same position had not the Lord had such great mercy upon me! It is so great to know that He is there loving and taking care of me 24/7!!!! I was reading Romans 7 and 8 last night and I just felt like shouting for joy!!!! What a wonderful and merciful Savior we have, and what hope and joy He has given us!!! He has saved me from eternal hell when I didn't even deserve it. "For the wages of sin is death." The Lord is worthy to be praised, and one day every knee shall bow to Him and confess His name as Lord!!!

I Survived!!!!!

I did survive the ACT. It was easier in some ways than I thought it would be, but it was still rather difficult. The science was awful! I think I guessed on just about every one of them. Mom said I looked pretty "white around the gills" when I came home. She said that I was really pale and my lips were white. It's kind of funny because I went to the gas station that's next to the school and across the street from our house to get a DP. I was pretty tired, and needed something. The guy at the cashier looked at me kind of weird, and I guess he probably doesn't usually see people that pale walking in. It was really amazing because I know a lot of prayers were being lifted up for me, and thank ya'll who did pray for me. A couple of nights before the test I came across Ps. 31:24. It says "Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord." I would keep repeating that to myself when I got nervous or discouraged. That really helped along with chewing Icebreakers. :)
That night we went to our pastor's house for supper. They seem to have settled okay since their move back in July. They have quite the animaly population now too. They have 11 cats, 2 dogs, and 3 horses. They showed us some land they are thinking about buying. The hamburgers were really great too, and it was nice to visit with them. We were mainly talking about how suprising it is that so few people believe that there is an absolute truth. Rather weird, huh?
Well, today has gone fine. I went to math class as I usually do twice a week. It was kind of funny because as I walked into class one of the guys was laying on the floor behind the table because he was so tired. He then asked some of the other kids who had entered and they told he should sit up and see for himself. When he saw it was me he smiled and said, "Oh, hey, Stacey. I can always remember you because you're the only one that always wears a skirt." He seems to have a hard time remembering names, apparantly. I wasn't offended at all, I really thought it more funny than anything because he's kind of a wacky guy. It does seem kind of weird to be only remembered as a wearer of a skirt, but I guess it kind of makes me stick out like a sore thumb. It's rather sad that more people don't try to dress modestly. It's kind of funny to see what kind of dress some people come out of Wal-Mart wearing. It was funny one day because an Mennonite woman walked into Wal-Mart when Mom and I were coming out one time. We were dressed almost exactly the same, and she kind of looked at me weird. Course, I'm not at all Mennonite. They have some rather off- the- wall doctrine if you ask me. Oh well, guess I better go. Oh, help!!!

I have to take an ACT tomorrow! I have to take the writing test because colleges are now requiring that students take the writing ACT for admittance. So I basically have to write an essay afterwards. It was rather nuts because we didn't realize that I would need to practice for it until Tuesday. I was asking my math teacher for some advice and she said, "Well, of course, I assume you're practicing," and I kind of gave her a blank look and said,"Ummm....well, I didn't know you could practice." She told me where to get a practice book and I've been doing a couple of practice tests and practicing writing essays. Mom felt so bad that she hadn't thought of it before. The test will take 2 hours and 55 minutes. :/ The longest break I'll get is 15 minutes to gulp a DP down and eat a snack. I'll probably be brain-dead by the time I get home. Please keep me in your prayers tomorrow!!!!
Well, besides studying for the test I've been doing Calculus homework(sounds real fun, doesn't it?). I did get my first real taste of Calculus on Tuesday. I got to learn one definition of a derivative. It's not too hard at the moment. I basically just use algebra to solve the problems. It'll probably get more challenging later on, but at least I have a good teacher! :D

Boy, today has been busy and very tiring for me. I already have a little bit of a sinus infection, and then I was up watching a Chuck Norris movie last night. It was pretty interesting, I guess. It was really rather tense. I was all day doing school, and I feel like someone put my brain in a blender and hit Blend Well. Good grief, I sure hope tomorrow not so bad.
Mom is doing well. She is getting around the house with a limp, and occasionally will accidentally hit her leg on something. Other than that, she's been able to do several things around the house and Jesse and I are always at her beck and call if needed.
Mom has the stereo on in the kitchen at the moment. It is now playing the Lowrance version of the Easter Anthem. Oh, how agonizing!!!!! I think if William Billings heard how they changed the music around he'd probably turn over in his grave. I absolutely love that song, and it's rather annoying when it's not sung right! Some of you probably have never heard it or heard of it, but it is a really beautiful song of Jesus rising from the dead. It's Sacred Harp, and was actually sung at Julie and James's wedding(while they were walking down the aisle). Boy, do I remember that! I was the flower girl, and I practically ran down the aisle leaving poor Jesse behind me. Oh well, I was very timid and it didn't sink to kindly to have to walk in front of a couple hundred people. I looked weird back then. I was eight- years- old and had short brown hair.
Well, I guess I need to go eat supper. I think it's left-over hamburgers and some fries. It's that kind of fries that are frozen, and they taste really good still frozen! Talk later!!!

Hey!!!

Sorry if it's been a few days since I last posted. I was rather discouraged and didn't think anyone was reading my blog anyway, so I kind of took a break from it. I've also been trying to find a good free photo hosting website. I'd love to put some pictures on here, but haven't found a good site yet. Do ya'll have any suggestions?
It's been rather interesting around here lately. Mom's surgery did go well, by the way, and she's recovering just fine. She's able to get around without a walker too, which is really great. We took off some days of school to help her around the house. Jesse and I are kind of her errand runners. Dad also was able to be home from work for a day. We had a day in Lubbock going to Mom's knee doctor appointment, Jesse's allergy shot, and my math class. Then we made a little stop over at Pizza Hut. That was nice because we'd all been having a craving. :D My math teacher was kind of scaring us yesterday. She said that we had to be at math class on Tuesday because she was going to give us our first big dose of Calculus, and that we had to be there whether we were sick or not. She seems really excited to be getting us into that, but I'm rather nervous about it.
Well, I guess I'm going to sign off now.

Whew, I feel rather drained today. I kind of had a hard day in math today. I couldn't be at my last math class so my teacher faxed me the lesson. I had a hard time trying to figuire out a lot of stuff, but I finally figuired most of it out. Ever have that feeling that you must just be really stupid or something? I kinda felt like that today. Hmmm...maybe I ought to just rest and read after I get off the internet. A little Sherlock Holmes or something like that might be nice. It's really cool reading some of those adventures.
Well, on to more cheery stuff, it looks very apparant that our cat(Frisky) is definately going to have more kittens. She's so big she's that she's having to walk very slowly and can't jump up very easily. Mom can't wait for my sister and her family to move out here so that they can take her off our hands. We can't have just a whole bunch of cats around here. We already have 3 plus whatever more Frisky has.
Listened to any politics lately? I've been listening to a little Rush today. It's funny how crazy those enviromentalist wackos can get. Rush was talking about how they've basically made up their own religion out of enviromentalist stuff. Kind of nutty if you ask me and not very healthy for this country.

Hmmm...

Back when I was in Christian school, a movie make- up artist came to our class. She was the sister of our teacher. It was really cool because she could put stuff on you that made it look like you had really been cut or bruised or burned, etc. She asked permission to do something on me so I obliged her. I didn't know what she did until later. I about made my mom faint when I walked outside when school was over. What she had done was make it look like I had this huge gash across my forehead and it looked extremely realistic. It was pretty cool, but Mom made me get it off when I got home so we could go to the hospital to visit someone without someone thinking I had been abused or needed stitches. I have a picture of it somwhere, but even if I found it I don't think I'd be able to figuire out how to get it on here. Maybe some of you computer whizzes could help me. :D
Hmmmm....I have to make some cookies this afternoon. I could wait until tomorrow, but I'll probably be too busy. See, since Mom can't make dinner for church on Sunday, I'm going to make a Mexican Rice Casserole. It's actually a really good dip that you put on top of chips topped with cheese and salsa. It's one of my favorites. For a dessert I'm supposed to make some peanut-butter chip cookies which are very well liked at church. I also have my usual Saturday chores and then working cleaning a lady's house. Then I come home and feel like collapsing on the bed. Course, I don't because I'm not much of one to take naps unless I'm at Camp Moriah or Harmony Hill. When you go to those places a nap is essential to your survival. :)

Brrrrr....it's cold!!!

We had a blue northerly come through yesterday and the temperature dropped from the eighties to about the fifties. It's been wet and miserable all today. Mom left early this morning to go have her knee surgery. Dad called earlier and said that everything went fine, and they're on their way home now. She'll be in an immoblizer for about a week.
Well, my Dad had his fifty-fourth B'day on the first. Mom fixed him an angel food cake. It's his favorite. Course, on his birthday he was gone down to Austen to take Justin his car back.
We had a good Bible study last night!! It's kind of funny because Joe Taylor(a friend of mine and a well-known Creationist fossil guy) is having a bunch of guys coming to help him with his musuem. We figuired up that he'll probably have about six bachelors in that big house of his. That should be interesting. : ^D

I really hope I am a blessing to someone. I really like that song! That and Others. I seem to be so selfish most of the time, and only thinking of my own comfort and what I want. That is not the proper Christian attitude. Where in the Bible does it say for us to only serve ourselves and forget others? NOWHERE!!!! If you think otherwise, I think you need to ask God for forgiveness. There is always someone who needs us. The poor will always be with us. Just think how it would be if when we ourselves had a need like a disaster happened and everyone was just looking out for themselves. That wouldn't help much now would it?

It's Fall already!

I sure miss the summer, and today has been cold and rainy. I don't mean to be a complainer, but I prefer much more the hot weather.
Well, it's the end of another week. That's nice. Course, the only problem is that as soon as one week ends another starts up. *sigh* Thus is the pains of a student. I keep catching myself thinking how great it'll be when this school year is over. Oh well, I'm supposed to be content at every time in life, so I guess that also includes the season of the year too, so I'll stop my griping.
Oh! Jesse and I went in together and bought the Chronicles of Narnia Radio Theater of Focus on the Family!! We've listened to The Magicians Nephew, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, and part of The Horse and His Boy. It's really cool. I'm a Narnia fan so I really like it. I heard that it took them six years to produce it. There's also supposed to be a movie coming out on December 9.

Don't ya'll remember that song we used to sing as little kids at Camp? I still sing it! I'll be going around the house clapping and singing "Happy, Happy....". It's especially interesting to do when Jesse is grumpy. :) I usually get a mean look and then am asked to please stop, go figuire. I also like to sing that "O be joyful, O be jubilant put your sorrows far away" song. It's so much fun to sing and it makes me feel better when I'm sad. Course, it gets on a certain sibling's nerves when I get really hiper, and start singing and going nuts.
Well, I guess you can probably guess that things are going swell today. Yesterday was a different story. We had to take my Dad to work and so we had to get up early and then stay in Lubbock for my math lesson and Mom' s doctor visit. I was quite worn out by the time we reached home. I feel much better now. :)

Errr...Torturous Math!!!

I sure had a hard time in math today. It really made my school day a lot longer and it was rather frustrating. I just keep thinking that this year is my last year of math!!! Oh, but that the end of the year would come soon!!!! Math is definately not my favorite subject, that's for sure. I rather like history or literature better. Grammar is annoying, but bearable. French is fun, except for all the quizes and tests. Parlez-vous francais? J'aime le francais. C'est tres tres bien!!!

It's hot

Whew! It sure was hot today. It must have been in the 90s. Thankfully, it wasn't that bad during church even though we don't have air conditioning. We do have coolers and fans though. I could really tell it was incredibly hot when I kinda burned my feet running across the car port. :P *Yikes! Jumps into the garage where the cement's cool* I know, it sounds stupid, but I like to run around bare foot. Course, I don't do it in the winter. I'm not that stupid. Course, I wonder what it feels like....hmmm....just kiddin'. :D
I don't believe we will be getting any rain from Rita thanks to a cold front. It's going to block it from giving us any rain. Course, there still is a small chance of us getting rain, but enough to be of any significance.
Boy, I sure have been glad to have Dublin Dr. Pepper handy the past few weeks. Justin had brought up a flat of them a couple of months ago, but Mom wouldn't let us touch them unless we were sick. By the way, drinking Dr. Pepper when you're feeling bad is really good. Mom, who doesn't like DP, will even drink it when she's feeling bad. So drink it! It works!!! :) Anyway, I've been able to drink it more often because my math class in Lubbock starts at 11:30 and ends at 12:30, and we live about an hour from there, so we have to pack a lunch. So guess what we get to drink? DP, of course!!! Boy, that stuff is good!!!

"Saturday, What a Day...."(Happy Days)

Yay it's Saturday!!! "Celebrate, Celebrate, come on and celebrate!"(commercial) I got my chores done, and I think I am going to make those oatmeal cookies! :D I haven't made them in a while, and if Jesse doesn't want them he can eat his oreos. :P Besides, I haven't made them in a long while and I kinda have a craving. :D
The only problem with the weekend is that it ends! I think Monday is my least favorite day of the week. I seem to usually have a long day of school the first day of the week. Well, anyway, not to bore you. I'm sure this is not my most interesting post, but, oh well.
Well, hurricane Rita made landfall early this morning. I hope my older brother whose in College Station is okay. I have a friend who lives in Houston and I wonder if she got out okay. I don't think we'll be getting any rain from it, though. They have about 800 evacuees(did I spell that right?) in Lubbock.
Well, I'm really sorry if I bored you with this post. I don't really have anything just really interesting going on. Course, I could talk to you about my Calculus homework, but I think you'd probably just leave this blog never to return.

Hmmm...oatmeal cookies?

Howdy! I'm right now wondering if I ought to make some oatmeal raisin cookies this weekend. I'll have to think some more on it because I don't know if my Dad and little brother would eat them. :/ Speaking of weekend, I'm so glad it's finally here. The weekend is so great! It's every student's joy!!! This week actually hasn't been too bad(I probably say that because I got a little impromtu break from Calculus :D).
I heard that Al Gore is thinking seriously of running for president again in '08. Rush was saying that he was trying to act like Nixon. Another words, Nixon supported Goldwater and because of that he gained support that helped him win in '68. Gore supported Howard Dean, and because of that he's hoping to gain support from Dean's supporters and others. We all know how questionable Dean's sanity is, so I really don't think it'll help him much, it'll probably hinder him more than anything, especially with Hillary running. I can still hear Dean's scream(HaHa) I'll never forget that!!! :D Does anyone know who all is going to run in '08 on the conservative side of things?
Hmmm....what shall I do this afternoon? I think I'll go do some cleaning work for a friend of mine who owns a fossil museum. He's a sixty-year-old bachelor that kinda forgets to clean the front. Oh well, at least I'll get some more cash to stick into the savings account. So I guess I ought to go get my bike out pretty soon and ride over there. Hopefully, I won't hurt anyone on the way. Course, I have the right of way, but it seems that many drivers kinda forget that, and I almost got hit once.

Today

Today sure has so far gone well. Mom is going to the knee doctor today and it will be decided what exactly will be done to repair her knee and when. She's gone through two foot surgeries and is now going to go through this pretty soon. She still keeps a smile on her face though.
Hmmm...I finished school kinda early and I'm trying to decide what to do this afternoon. I probably need to work on a few of my ever growing projects. I have about four projects always going at the same time. I probably need to make some headway on at least one. One of the sisters at church showed me this new stitch to put on some pillowcases I made, and she asks me about every time I see her if I've finished them yet.
Did you hear about the former president of the N.A.G.S. dying? They had something about it on the Rush Limbaugh show. I sure hope she repented before meeting her final judgement. Oh, heavens what is this country coming to when we honor someone who yelled about how mad she was and encouraging lawlessness.

Rather Concerned

We found out yesterday that a hate crimes bill was passed on the sly. This hate crimes bill would make it illegal to speak out against homesexuality. It sure is sad to see the way this country is headed. I've always enjoyed studying American History and I often catch myself longing for the days when God and his grace were talked about as often as we talk about the weather. But I cannot allow myself to do that. God put me in this time for a purpose, and I am to be content. I may not know that purpose, but my heavenly Father does!!!
Well, my day does seem to be going well, by the way. School wasn't too bad. I can't wait for summer even though school just started a couple of weeks ago.

A Blessed Sunday

Boy, today sure went well. We really had a good crowd at our church and our pastor preached wonderfully out of the book of John. It's funny how often John 3:16 is taken out of context by so many people these days. I also enjoyed being able to visit with a friend I hadn't seen in a while who came to church today. The weather was also fine today and pleasant. Hmmm...I wonder what I'll have for dinner...
